In need of rejuvenating, brightening or clearing your complexion? Us too.  So when we heard about this secret of the stars (, and the girls are fans!), we had to try it out - and share it with you of course.

O2 Intraceuticals Facials are non-invasive skin treatments that work by blasting oxygen and a cocktail serum of vitamins, antioxidants and peptides into the skin.

As with other modern skin-saving facials it isn't designed to pamper and relax, it's a results-driven treatment that leaves a visible difference making it a fab natural alternative to injections and nip/tucks.

The different serums used include the Rejuvenation Infusion, Opulence Skin Brightening, Clarity - great for adult acne sufferers - and Atoxelene Infusion which not only irons out wrinkles and lines but assists in the prevention of new wrinkle formation. So that's how the A-listers look so sickeningly youthful!

All the serums, when blown into skins surface, work to immediately plump and hydrate the surface of the skin. I opted for the new brightening variety which promised to boost radiance and rid unevenness.

The results spoke for themselves; the therapist worked on one half of my face before handing me a mirror to analyse the more pert, fresh and even complexion compared to the duller, saggier side.

The whole process took just over half an hour yet lasted for a week. It's recommended that you do a course of six as the effects are cumulative but if you're after a quick fix before a big do a one-off still works wonders.

Don't let the fact that it delivers instant results make you fear it - it's not painful although at times it tickles and can feel and can feel quite cold. It's a small price to pay for an Eva-esque effect

Hot pink lips for every skin tone.

10 Tips for Wearing Hot Pink Lipstick

Such a vibrant lip color can be pretty difficult to pull off, but if you’re bold enough to take the plunge, here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Keep it simple! With such a bright lip color, you’ll want to make sure you go easy on the eye makeup, especially if you’re planning on wearing this as a casual, daytime look.
  • Along the same lines, be sure not to overdo it with the blush. Too much pink on your face isn’t going to be a good look for anyone! If you do wear blush, try selecting a nude color.
  • Though of course there is no “rule” saying you can’t wear bold lipstick during the daytime, if you’re having doubts, you may want to save this look for night, especially if you’ve gone with a brighter fuchsia shade.
  • Hot pink lipstick is also a great alternative for those nights when you want something bold and daring but don’t want bright red lips – it’s also a perfect spring and summer alternative to a classic red lip.
  • Get your undertones right. When choosing a lipstick, you’ll want to select one with blue undertones if you have cooler skin, and if you have warm undertones, then you’re better suited for something more orange or red-based.
  • Many people will tell you that fair-skinned folk can’t pull off bright pink shades, but this obviously isn’t true (see Emma Stone above – flawless!). If you want to try this look, then try it – you only live once! If it’s something that you want to wear and you like how it looks, don’t worry about whether or not someone else thinks it looks good on you.
  • Wearing such a dramatic, in-your-face lip color isn’t something that everyone should attempt. Make sure you have the confidence to pull it off, and if you’re not comfortable wearing it, don’t. There is no point to buying something just because it’s trendy if you feel absolutely ridiculous wearing it in public!
  • If you’re looking to switch up your beauty routine and get out of your comfort zone (I don’t know about you guys, but I generally gravitate toward lipsticks that are all pretty similar), a hot pink shade is a great idea. Don’t be afraid to experiment with your look!
  • Test it out before you buy. It’s always a good idea to actually try lipsticks before you buy them, since buying them blind is a bit of a gamble – you can never be 100% sure the color will suit you! So head to Sephora or a makeup counter and get testing.
  • It’s best to test the color in natural light instead of relying on department store lighting. Ask for a sample, or have a sales associate test it out on your lips so you can view it later.

To shag or not to shag

From Goldie Hawn to Meg Ryan, there is no other haircut that’s been redone as many times as the shag, and 2011 will bring its own version of this iconic ‘do. The shag is synonymous with bold layering, and has been seen on both male and female counterparts. Influenced by the 2009 chop of model Freja Beha Erichsen’s hair, the shag has evolved yet again to become the most sought after style this side of the new decade.

Described by freelance writer and Allure contributor Robyn Brown as “the hair equivalent of Frye boots”, the new shag is more rock and roll than trim and tidy. Varying in length, you can cut this new trend into most hair types. Keep in mind that clients with fine hair will be better off with the lengthier translation, while clients blessed with thick hair can sport the shag at any span.

It’s best to go at this trendy cut with an amateur mentality by mimicking a self hack job. The new shag is much more than a cut. It’s a mentality. Instead of taking a cookie cutter approach, remember that for this look the messier the better. Your client is looking for a fashion forward cut, but it has to be low maintenance. Don’t hesitate to suggest cutting a small bang as well, even if they don’t go for it, your client will appreciate your expert suggestion.

Aim for that disheveled, in your face, sultry layered style. A dollop of styling gel in the palm of your hand should be all you need to whip those wispy strands into place. Scrunch the hair with your fingertips just before it fully dries. With this cut especially, it won’t be necessary to shampoo every day, so suggest some dry shampoo formula at the roots for those days she’ll go without. For a less relaxed alternative, you can straighten sections of the cut, and leave the others. Instead of focusing on whole strands, straighten only the roots of some sections or only the tips of others. This will keep the cut’s definitively edgy feel, but also transform the shag into something a little more polished.

The hottest hair color trends

The hottest hair color trends; spring 2011

Last fall’s fashion runways brought lots of deep, bold colors when it came to hair, but for spring 2011 it’s going to be all about the gold accents. Accessories and hardware lit up the runways with golden hues, and your client’s hair should begin to follow suit. Instead of the traditional highlighting method, consider some of these chic selections. Here are the season’s hottest trends when it comes to spring transition.

Ombré hair

Brunettes or blondes can opt for this trendy brightening method as an alternative to more traditional highlights. Seen on celebrities such as Drew Barrymore, Rachel Bilson, and Ashlee Simpson, the stars have demonstrated the various natural hues that can rock the ombré. Perfect for clients looking for a lower maintenance option this spring; it only gets better as it grows out!

Redheads

It seems everyone is going red this season, from Rihanna’s bold tone to Emma Stone’s more natural variation. However, this spring redheads will need to amp it up! Red’s favorability will continue to develop, and stylists should encourage their clients to go a shade or two stronger. Vibrant redheads will be all the rage.

Chestnut brown

For those clients who aren’t ready to make such a dramatic change, chestnut brown may be the best way to go. Brighten those darker browns to this flattering tint, and add some fine highlights to frame the face for that coveted sun kissed look. For this trend, the more natural it can appear the better!

Any three of these hot hair colors are sure to flatter and compliment a wide range of skin tones, and will help enhance and distinguish your client’s look heading into this spring and summer.

While there are social networks and other websites connected to hair care and beauty, Hairku takes the best of social networks and has created a hair network forum, a place for people who care about how they look to get together and communicate.
What is possible at Hairku? How about finding former contacts and clients? What about getting brand new clients who are interested in your services? At Hairku all of this and more is possible. This is one of the reasons the Hairku hair network forum was created. With blogs that allow people to post their thoughts, tips, and techniques as well as many other “social network” features, this website is great for anyone who cares about how they look.
Here’s a look at some of the features they currently offer (with more in the works.)

  • It is a single place to gather for people who care about how they look.
  •
  • From finding new clients to reconnecting with clients from the past, Hairku is all about connections.
Networking is an important aspect for any hair care professional. With Hairku, the professionals can now interact directly with their clients on the Hairku hair network. While it is true that everyone can run their own website, Hairku is different in that it is the up and coming place for hair care professionals and customers to hang out and get to know each other.
No matter where you live, Hairku can help you reach out and connect with others, making it the leading hair social network. Those who are impressed with what is already available at Hairku, will be super impressed as the website continues to evolve over the months and years ahead.
There are many new and exciting features in the works that will make it even easier for hair care professionals and their clients to interact. The idea of a hair network online may be new, but that hasn’t stopped Hairku from quickly becoming the place to for hair professionals and their clients to get together online outside of the shop.
